General Safety Policy

Excelsior Panelling Systems recognise their responsibility for establishing and maintaining a safe working environment for all their employees. This responsibility arises from a moral and a statutory responsibility to provide the best practicable conditions of work from the health and safety point of view.

Excelsior Panelling Systems, in common with all other employers, has a statutory responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of their staff. This requires compliance with the requirements of various Acts of Parliament, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Excelsior Panelling Systems recognise the requirement to conduct our undertaking in such a way to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, that person who are not in our employment, but who may be affected by our operations, are not exposed to health and safety risks.

The establishment and maintenance of a good health and safety record depends not only on the work of management to create a safe environment, but on all employees who are encouraged to participate in health and safety matters, by in-house consultation or with safety representatives.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, the employee has specific responsibilities to take reasonable care of himself and anyone who may be affected by his actions at work to co-operate with the company in meeting other legal requirements of the Act and not misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety.

Where required safe systems of work will be developed and become an integral part of the company’s accident and ill-health prevention programme, regular monitoring will be undertaken, with appropriate line management involvement. All monitoring will be reviewed for any system or organisational weakness and action taken to ensure continued development and improvement.

Excelsior Panelling Systems will provide sufficient resources to ensure that the provisions of the Act and subsequent Regulations are met fully.

This policy will be kept up to date, the policy and the way in which it has operated, will be reviewed every year by the Managing Director who carries overall responsibility for all Health & Safety matters within or associated with the business practice and procedures.
