Sustainability at Excelsior

Sustainability & Environmental Product Declarations

At Excelsior, we recognise the importance of making informed decisions about the environmental impact of the products and materials used within a building.

We are committed to continually improving the environmental performance of our business and to providing architects, contractors and other industry professionals with the information they need to make responsible specification choices.

Our approach to sustainability

Sustainability is an ongoing process. We consider environmental factors across our operations and in the products and materials we supply, while continuing to look for opportunities to improve.

We work with a range of preferred suppliers to manufacture our cubicle and panelling systems. Our preferred suppliers may vary over time in response to market conditions, product availability and other industry factors. This flexibility allows us to provide our customers with high-quality products while maintaining competitive pricing and access to a range of material options.

Where alternative materials or specifications are required, we are also able to offer a range of options to suit individual project requirements.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)

Environmental Product Declarations, commonly referred to as EPDs, provide independently verified information about the environmental impacts associated with a product throughout its life cycle.

EPDs can help architects, contractors, specifiers and building owners to better understand the environmental performance of the products they are considering and support more informed decisions during the specification process.

As part of our commitment to providing greater transparency, we make relevant supplier EPDs available for consideration when specifying our products.

Because our preferred suppliers can change over time, the EPDs provided on this page relate to products and materials from suppliers we commonly work with. If a specific EPD, product or material specification is required for your project, please contact our team and we will be happy to provide further information where available.

Making informed specification choices

We understand that environmental considerations are becoming increasingly important when selecting products for construction and refurbishment projects.

There is no single solution for every project, which is why we aim to provide choice and useful environmental information alongside our product and material options.

By making relevant EPD information available, we want to help our customers, architects and contractors consider environmental impacts alongside the practical, technical and aesthetic requirements of a project.

What are we doing to reduce our Carbon Footprint?

Responsible Procurement and Supply Chain Development

ISO Accreditation

Excelsior holds ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications, reflecting our commitment to managing and continually improving our environmental performance.

ISO 14001 provides a recognised framework for an environmental management system, helping organisations identify, manage and continually improve their environmental responsibilities.

Our environmental management system supports our approach to reducing environmental impacts, meeting relevant environmental obligations and identifying opportunities for continual improvement.

Responsible Procurement & Supply Chain Development

We work with suppliers who share our values and uphold high standards of sustainability and ethics.

  • FSC-certified materials sourced locally where feasible

  • Planned and clustered deliveries to reduce transport emissions

  • Active Gold Member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, ensuring our staff undertake ongoing training across environmental, social, and governance topics

This helps develop a more sustainable, resilient, and socially responsible supply chain.
