Solid Surface Wash Trough

Excelsior range

Durable & attractive solid surface wash trough sinks

Excelsior has a bespoke range of troughs that are continually developed to ensure the product is the very best on the market.

Our solid surface wash trough sinks provide a long-lasting solution and sleek style for high-traffic areas such as schools, offices, entertainment venues, and more.

One key benefit of solid surface wash troughs is their impermeability to viruses, bacteria, and dirt. This reduces the risk of spreading disease, making them ideal for hospitals and medical centres.

Magma Trough Unit Range

We have designed our Magma Trough Unit Range to provide a high-specification, cost-effective option for either countertops or trough systems.

The solid surface material is around 33% resin & 66% natural minerals with a matte, soft surface. Its seams are virtually invisible, and the product is homogeneous which is highly desirable.

Following a fully framed slab theme we offer two different generic designs with integral rear upstand/ backsplash options:

  • SL – Continuous Sloping Slab Design
  • BA – Continuous Deep Tub Design

Our solid surface wash troughs are fully supported onto WBP Cantilevered Frame Supports as standard or Zinc Plated and Powder coat finished 38 x 38mm Steel Box section Cantilevered Frame Supports with an option to include a laminated access frontage to conceal all M&E works, or access cupboards for bin storage.

The square internal corners and junction abutments are manufactured as standard. Bespoke designs and profiles can also be manufactured to suit individual client requirements with virtually no limitations.

Solid surface wash troughs are best suited to high-traffic areas. As well as being aesthetically pleasing, solid surface wash troughs are cost-effective, easy to clean and maintain, and save a lot of space.

They are best suited to the following environments:

  • Schools
  • Offices
  • Entertainment venues
  • Hospitals

Solid surface wash troughs are an excellent alternative to regular sinks for communal washing spaces, offering several advantages.

Unlike traditional sinks mounted on vanity units, wash troughs provide a larger, seamless washing area, making them ideal for high-traffic environments. Their solid surface construction is highly durable and resistant to chipping or cracking, an issue often associated with porcelain sinks.

Additionally, their non-porous nature inhibits the growth of bacteria, ensuring a more hygienic solution. For example, in a busy office washroom, a solid surface trough can accommodate multiple users at once, reducing wait times and maintaining a sleek, modern look.

These qualities make solid surface wash troughs a superior choice for communal and demanding washroom settings.

When designing a washroom, it is essential to balance aesthetic appeal with practicality, ensuring the space meets the needs of its users while remaining functional and durable.

Key considerations include the following:

  • Size and capacity
  • Configuration options and accessories
  • Quality and durability of materials
  • Levels of traffic
  • Hygiene and maintenance
  • Ease of installation
  • Cost and budget
  • Sustainability

A sink is designed for single-user use, with each basin having its own taps, waste, and drainage system. On the other hand, a wash trough is a long, continuous basin meant to accommodate multiple users simultaneously, with all the water draining through a single outlet.
